RIT headed for Detroit after defeating UNH 6-2

CT Crease student Jared DeMichiel and the RIT Tigers have made headlines in hockey news all weekend with their NCAA tournament performance in Albany.

Next stop: Frozen Four

The team defied expectations by winning their games against both Denver and UNH this past weekend. RIT will go on to compete at the Frozen Four in Detroit, with their first game on April 8.

DeMichiel became a bit of a “media darling” over the course of the weekend as he spoke to reporters on his team’s behalf. Inside College Hockey called him the “breakout star” of East Regional.

He was also named the region’s Most Outstanding Player at the end of the tournament.
